It could just be me, but I think during the last two decades there have been more alien invasion movies and TV shows released than plot lines available. Invariably, they come from another planet and try to trick and/or kill us in one way or another. The only difference might be title, character and/or locale. Over and over this story is being delivered to us.
When I think of other images through the years that have been delivered to us in abundance, over and over, they usually relate to war or war film propaganda. Historically, these images were used to inspire patriotism, influence politics and/or promote a sense of nationalism. Are these images just popular entertainment or something else?
