FILM: THE ARTIST (2011)

In a post from back in MAY 2011 covering the Cannes FIlm Festival I wrote about a new, silent film, THE ARTIST, which was making its debut on the French Riviera. Well, PURSE & PULSE has done it again. This initially obscure, black and white film is now the talk of Hollywood and probably up for a best picture nomination. It's already captured the NY Film Critics' top honors. This love letter to the silent era was directed by Michael Hazanavicius and takes place in Hollywood, 1927. Silent movie star George Valentin wonders if the arrival of talking pictures will cause him to fade into oblivion.

With the advent of talking pictures, silent movies had faded into oblivion.
Who knows now--LOOK OUT!
