Film: Thinking of Writing a Screenplay? Part 2

Click to enlarge the below sample page from the award winning screenplay, AKEELAH AND THE BEE by Doug Atchison. You will see it is not very different from the sample page I included last time (except the #48, top right, which refers to the scene number--since this is a shooting version of the script. Your scenes DO NOT need to to be numbered on the page at this stage in the process.)

The below sample has an opening scene description of the office, moves right into some (centered) dialogue between the characters, who have already been established (earlier in the script) and follows a pretty simple format, which I also described last time.
The big difference is this screenplay went on to win the Academy of Motion Pictures 2000 Nicholl Fellowship** in screenwriting and was produced a few years later on the big screen starring Angela Basset and Laurence Fishburne.

You can turn your dream into a reality, too. Doug Atchison, the writer of AKEELAH AND THE BEE, also went on to direct the film years later. So, when your script is ready see if you have what it takes**:
